Easy Lessons to Help You WakeUp!

This course has a unique format that may be of particular interest to you. There are 13 short mini-lessons that you can do first thing in the morning or last thing before sleeping - which you can do even on your bed!

In addition to the short mini-lessons there are 5 full-length lessons connected with them, broadening and deepening your learning.

Some of my students find they are a little creaky in the mornings. They find they are a little slow in the mornings, sometimes a little "creaky" and stiff. I have created individual lessons for them according to their interests and need - for example to regain the fluidity of moving. I created lessons that they could do lying in bed or sitting on the side of the bed, and then progress to standing. I had a brainwave: why not share these activities?
When you open the series, you will see to sets of lessons, the 13 short lessons, followed by the 5 longer lessons. You get to choose which set to use -- you can mis and match, as well.
Even if you try the longer lesson, you can join for for the first 5 minutes for one mini-lesson, or for 10+ minutes, to enjoy the two, or even continue for the full hour.
Through this you will build up a repertoire of 13 short lessons, and 5 medium-length lessons.
You will be able to access each of these lessons separately! That means that you can go to the site and do only the short lessons, if you so wish, or the longer -- all at your own pace and time.

About Feldenkrais® Awareness Through Movement™

Feldenkrais classes keep pace with how you are feeling. Step by step, starting from very simple movements, each class brings you gently to new realizations on your path to freedom, whether it be in joints, or your thinking, or your emotions.

There are lessons for those who are just beginning in the Feldenkrais Method™, as well as lessons to satisfy the curiosity of those with significant experience.

In addition to audio and video recordings of the lessons, some will have additional ideas that help you take the lesson into your daily life, whether it is in your bed, or your chair at your computer, walking, or even in sports.

My first love was maths and sciences, leading to systems analysis – human and also computer systems. This led to a Masters in Educational Measurement, followed soon after with training in biofeedback at the California Pain Control Centre in Long Beach, California.

These studies opened a thirst for broader study, from massage, Reiki, energy systems, yoga and Tai Chi. I was always deeply drawn to the practice of mind-body integration and found that training in the Feldenkrais Method® gave me the best grounding in this way of being in the world. I graduated from my four-year Feldenkrais training program in 1991 and have maintained a private practice since.

I love working collaboratively and have volunteered for many years. I enjoyed being President of the Feldenkrais Guild of North America and have also had the opportunity to contribute to the International Feldenkrais Federation (IFF).

My interest in all things digital have intertwined with my Feldenkrais interests. I was an early adopter and advocate of online teaching (even before the Covid-19 2020/21 pandemic. This has been an important combination of skills as co-organizer of the Kelowna Feldenkrais Teacher Training that began online in 2021.
