Evening Class in Naramata, July, 2019
Evening class held at Naramata Centre, July 2019
These ten lessons are fresh, exciting and easy to follow for the beginner to the Feldenkrais Method. After each lesson people felt refreshed, relaxed, pains may have melted away. Some discovered that the class was also a bit of an introduction to mindfulness.
Each lesson has a brief description, giving you a bit of context about the lesson. At the end of each lesson, you will find additional text to help you reflect on how you have changed.
Included in the course is a 12-page booklet to accompany your lessons, to allow you space to write or draw, as the spirit moves you.
The ten lessons in this course represent two series: The first 6 were explicitly for those new to the Feldenkrais Method and who were curious about the possibilities for themselves. The next four were part of a series I did with new staff who were in training for the summer. Prior to the first recorded lesson, the students had experienced a number of basic lessons. These four lesson took them a bit further in their self-exploration.
Rob has been providing Feldenkrais Method of Somatic Education to the Calgary region since he graduated from a Feldenkrais Professional Training program 1991.
Rob took the Feldenkrais training as it appealed to his sense of respect for the human condition: we are complex individuals living our lives to the best of our abilities. The Method continues to appeal to Rob for it has great depth and wisdom.
Rob has provided classes 40+ weeks a year since about 1995, as well as many workshops, since then. He is available for individual sessions on a appointment basis (see his website).
Rob began recording his classes at the request of a systems engineer in 1999, and continues recording to this day. Every few years he upgrades the technology of recording, storing and distributing the lessons. This is the latest tool for sharing classes.
